RIDES/DRIVES
Solid thinking horse who is well versed WTC. Great mind! But needs a CONFIDENT/SOLID PARTNER TO SUCEED. Would be suitable in hunter or sport division for junior exhibitor entry level. He works best in just a snaffle - no martingale or any type when riding. Easy to handle and super personable!
He would be happy as someone's dressage or trail partner too! Gets along with others.
For us (to this date at least) he has pulled a drag only. He is sensible and if he stays in the program we will hook. He was said to have driven.

BRENNEMAN'S BLAZER ELEGANCE AKA POLLY
Registered Morgan Mare
Blazer T Spirit x Elegance With a Flair
f. June 1, 2001
15hh
Intake into the program: February 2, 2017

Polly was a direct purchase from her owner, who was looking for a place for the mare when she sold her barn. We already had a full sister in the program and wanted to help with this beautiful girl also.  She went to foster in New Hampshire and needs to be relocated to another foster or adoptive home.
Polly’s skills:
Ground: She bathes, clips, leads, stands tied and cross tied.  She is easy and willing.
Under saddle: As far as we know, Polly has had no riding training and would need to be started.
Driving: Polly was a driving horse for several years, but had an incident (we don’t know the details) that make her very nervous and protective of her hind end.  She could potentially be rehooked, but it would take an experienced handler to help her with this.
What does Polly’s ideal adopter look like?
Ground: most anyone can handle Polly on the ground. She is kind & sweet and her foster mom has worked extensively on handling.  She likes people to be deliberate and slow in her presence, but if you can manage that, you will do very well with her.
Under saddle: Intermediate rider capable of backing a horse or someone willing to invest in training for her. So far, Polly has worn a saddle, but not had weight across her back, mostly due to time and help constraints (teaching a horse to ride in the early days generally requires a rider and spotter).
In harness: experienced person willing to get her over her memories.
Polly loves her stall at night and the company of other horses, so she can’t be adopted out to a single horse situation.

Why you want her: Polly so desperately wants a person of her own. She enjoys the bond with a person she trusts and a one on one relationship. We believe she will thrive with her own person. She bathes, clips, is great for the farrier and vet.  She has wonderful, Morgan feet and is a very easy keeper.

What is wrong with her: Polly had a driving incident that causes her to be protective on her hind end.  She is not mean or threatening in any way, but will move her haunches away from you if you try to put on a crupper, etc. She also has no riding traing, but that is not her fault.  She can be trained to do that, or simply be a pet, as her personality and easiness will win you over!

Polly had a lot of interest... and a lot of fall throughs! Don't let her down this Christmas!

Dallas ~  FIRST NEIGH HOMED FOR CHRISTMAS! 12/8/2019

(QH Cross Gelding)
14.3hh
Palomino
Foaled 2012

Dallas is a stout gelding who is very well mannered and gets along well with others. He has been used in our camp/lesson program. He does neck rein but is rusty and probably has some reining background.

MSN feels his job is best suited as a trail partner or possible therapy horse. Therapy as we have noted him "taking care" of our smaller less advanced students just alone during grooming. He is a super sweet gelding who was relinquished to the HorseFeathers program when found to be not suitable as a purchase for barrel prospect.

AUTUMN

Unregistered Morgan Mare
DNA negative
f. June 1, 2005
14.3hh

You can't have Winter without Autumn! Autumn was taken in to our program shortly after Lexi and roughly 2015. Her foster had put in 90 days saddle work training but had wanted a driver. She was adopted as a companion, light trail horse to a woman in VA but did not get along with her senior. She was moved to foster in KY, where she was originally pals with Lexi. About 2yrs ago she was adopted to a therapy program for Amish children. Recently she has taken some resentment to the job and was returned. We have not had the chance to evaluate her for riding but hope to have some answers in the coming weeks. She trailers fine. Seems to be slightly alpha in the pasture. Maybe it was the ring work that bored her. She might do fine as someone's light trail horse where there are different things to see.

172603 TOWNSHEND CALL TO DUTY

(Call to Order x Townshend Rapport)
15.2h
Solid Bay Gelding
Foaled 5/30/2002

Gunner is a very well mannered, easy keeper. He was an owner relinquish and is being expertly handled and managed by familiar faces at Timberhill Stables in Kingston, MA. Gunner is a very forward moving guy with a lot of energy. He was shown in dressage for quite some time, but had been slightly off and owners did not have the funds to go further. He was in no work, living the best pasture rat life for over a year.

MSN has paid for vet evaluations and Gunner will need maintenance of possible future hock injections and/or Oshpos. Gunner is currently and has been working sound for several months. He was first treated in September of this year at MSN's expense.

Gunner is NOT a beginner's horse or unconfident rider. He has been working in a snaffle and it is felt his best match would be an interest in dressage or trail. He has worn both an english and western saddle but he is a direct rein horse.

Video Groom: https://youtu.be/rOnhY29vB-g

Video Ridden: https://youtu.be/RBAH87JE8LU

Gunner needs time to adjust to new people and surroundings and for that reason Timber Hill has agreed to foster him through this special adoption promotion so that he does not have to move several times in between. We hope his right person is out there!

We are looking for a forever home for Gunner. Not a trial or another foster. If you feel you may be a fit for this very special gelding, please apply at Morgansafenet.com so we can continue the discussion! His special fee of $500 is from December 1-24, 2019. Sivil's Bonnie Pepper, a.k.a. Bonnie
(Luv Our Top Pepper x Greentree Perfect Timing)
15.1h
Foaled May 22, 1998

Intake to MSN program: July 2015 (yes - that is correct). Here is a tall, kind, smart, beautiful and broke horse who has been waiting for someone to believe in her for FOUR YEARS. We are baffled by why this girl is still available.

Skills: Ground manners: Kind and trusting.

Saddle: Broke W/T/C. Driving: unknown.

Why you want her: Lovely: Look at her! She is the absolute picture of Morgan femininity. Smart: Bonnie learns and retains her lessons. If someone were to put consistent time into her, she would pay you back a thousandfold. Well bred: If you know about Morgans, you know her pedigree. She is as her genetics indicate she will be. She is a typey, pretty, intelligent partner.

Her ideal adopter has the following skills: Ground: beginner. Riding: advanced beginner - she isn't really experienced under saddle, but she wants nothing more than to please. She can be trained by an amateur. Driving: we aren't sure, but think she has not had training. What is wrong with her: Training inconsistent with age: this is not her fault. The family that donated her to the program had her as a pasture pet for many years, along with her dam, but she loves people and learns so fast that this won't be the case for long in a home tending to her education.

Why she is your unicorn: This girl has the manners of an older horse but you still get to have fun shaping her. She is SO COOL (our board member rode her once and is completely smitten with her!). Probably best suited to a sport home or maybe even endurance. Her gaits are ground covering and elegant (see videos!!) As with all of our horses, precious Bonnie will go with an adoption contract and reference check. Transport is the responsibility of the adopter

Lexi
(Morgan/Saddlebred Cross)
Chestnut Mare 15.2h
Foaled May 22, 2006

RIDES ~ Green broke Lexi is a beautiful athlete and would be well suited for dressage/jumper/hunter sport arena. She is presumed to have driven as she was a direct broker pull in PA. We have not driven her. We don't have current video. She has been started and stopped many times over the years and should be considered a project; not finished. She is very much a pocket pony once she trusts you and super sweet.

MSN Winter's Dance, a.k.a. Winter

(LWM Mannie B x April Dancer)
15.1hh
Chestnut
Foaled 2002

Intake to MSN program: November 2015. She was adopted by a family in Colorado in 2016 and relinquished back to the program in the summer of 2018. Guys... I'm not going to lie. This girl breaks my heart. We bought her originally from a direct to slaughter pen in PA, counted on to complete a kill buyer's load. Her owner drove her there, unharnessed her and she was bought by the meat man. We were lucky enough to have Cindy Noll on the ground that day to change her fate. We answered the call and here she is.

Ground manners: Alert and reasonable, confident alpha-type.

Saddle: rides, but has a big motor.

Driving: Broke to drive, but we have not driven her, as it feels like when you drive yourself to the kill pen, you should get a pass.

Why you want her: Statuesque Morgan looks: Winter is b-u-i-l-t and has that old-style Morgan air about her. Four-cournered trot: This girl can trot for days and has the big, round, open trot that made the Morgan the most coveted driving horse in America.

Size: Winter is a healthy 15.1hh and solid. She can easily carry a man.

World traveler: Forward, fun and tireless. This girl wants to go and take you along! If you have the need for speed, you have met your match.

Her ideal adopter has the following skills: Ground: advanced beginner / intermediate. Riding: intermediate. Driving: we aren't sure. We have not driven her because, well... you read it above. What is wrong with her: One significantly enlarged hind leg. Winter has a noticeably enlarged left hind lower leg. The vet found no issues with her bones or tendons - this is scar tissue and she is absolutely sound on this leg. If you watch her videos, you will see that.

Winter will go all day and thrill you doing it. She is a horseman's horse and a beautifully traditional Morgan mare. She needs someone who can see past her cosmetic issues and can believe in her regardless. She is big, beautiful, fun and forward. If you need a horse to look perfect, she is not for you and, frankly, we don't feel sorry for this self-assured girl and don't want you to either. If you believe sometimes the imperfect is perfect, as with the Japanese art of Kintsugi (the art of precious scars), then Winter just may be your girl. As with all of our horses, precious Winter will go with an adoption contract and reference check. Transport is the responsibility of the adopter. Contact us for more information. Winter is coming!

Lead The Way, a.k.a. Bart
(Essex Against All Odds x Ms Tribby)

Foaled 2009

Bart LOVES having a job! He’s super smart & sweet! He loves attention and seems to very much love kids. The only thing he HATES so far is being wormed 😜

Bart has only been here a couple months and is slowly starting back to work. We have not cantered him yet. He has done some trot poles too. He does not drive. He works well on a lunge line.

Clara Belle

(Morgan Cross Mare)
14.1hh
Chestnut
Foaled 2005

Clara is a grade Morgan mare rescued in January 2019 direct from a broker ready to ship with a registered Morgan mare. The papers were mixed and she was thought to be the registered mare. DNA would prove we had sent the wrong mare to the adopter and luckily this was caught. Clara arrived to Midlothian TX in November 2019. We have not had much time to evaluate, but shortly after coming off the trailer she proved to take a rider. She has also been long-lined but not hitched. She is presumed to also drive.

Clara seems to be okay on her own. She can be hard to catch but with time and treats I think this would change. She has a calm confident personality. We assume she was a former Amish mare, possibly a child's horse. She is easy to handle, prefers outdoor living and is alpha type in the pasture herd.

Legendary Alexander Flame aka Zander
(Troutbrook Alexander x HVK Vintage Flaire)
15h
Foaled May 22, 2007

Intake to MSN program: May 2014. We took Zander in from a broker in 2014. He was going to ship directly to slaughter. When we first met Zander, he was severely underweight and in need of groceries.

Skills: Ground manners: an advanced beginner can handle him on the ground. He can be a little bargey, but will come around quickly with consistent handling.
Saddle: Needs an intermediate or a trainer. Zander will happily go under saddle with a nice carriage, but he can be cold-backed if he sits too long. He is also just learning to ride and we don’t consider any green horse to require less than intermediate handler. That said, if you know what you are doing with saddle training, he could be trained by a confident amateur.
Driving: Zander was a driving horse from the age of two. That job caused a road founder in one of his front hooves (which is stable in terms of changes). We are certain he does and can drive, but have not done so with him.
Why you want him: Puppy dog personality: If you like a horse who likes people, you will like him! Zander is a cuddly, sweet horse who actually lets you hug his head. Age is on his side: Zander is only 12 years old. He has done a lot in that time: Amish driver from age 2-7, and in 5 separate foster and training homes while with MSN.

His ideal adopter has the following skills: Ground: advanced beginner
Riding: intermediate….. He needs saddle time or a trainer to get him going consistently
Driving: Unknown, because we have not driven him
Needs: Continued farrier care. We have got him back to a point that he is sound barefoot but on our clay ground when hard sometimes tracks short. Then we use trail boots.

What is wrong with him:
Road founder on his left front: Zander has been seeing an experienced farrier who has restored him to soundness. Zander will not be placed in a home without an experienced farrier. Farrier work in the key to his usable life.
Why he is your unicorn: Zander is a kind, capable, talented horse who could go in any direction. We feel he looks adorable Western, but his natural way of going could lend itself to WP or HP also. He needs a home who can understand and care for his front hoof in order to give him the best possible chance at long-term soundness.

Zanader will go with an adoption contract and reference check with Morgan Safenet. Transport is the responsibility of the adopter. Contact us for more information on this personable gelding.
